St. Joseph Parish at 915 E Oliver St, Owosso, MI 48867-2447 US - CCD

As a parish community we come together to share our faith. We do this by sharing our stories, coming together at Mass on weekends, and reaching out to learn more about God. As parents of young children making sure they have all the resources to learn about God, attending Mass each weekend, and living as Christ taught us are the primary ways your children realize the importance of God in their lives. Our CCD program is a way for the parish to help parents teach their children about Jesus and his love for all mankind.
Each year of CCD is important for your child, as each year builds on the previous year. For those children in second and ninth grade it is vitally important that these children attend class. It is in the first year that children will receive the foundation to continue on their journey with Christ in second grade for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. It is the policy of our program that children attend at least one year of religious education before they can make these very important sacramnts.
For children in seventh/eight grade, it is a time that they are prepared for the Sacrament of Confirmation, which they receive in the 8th grade. It is important that children attend each sessions because it is where they receive the keys to understanding what the Church teaches about the sacrament of Confirmation. It is also a policy of our program that children attend these sessions before receiving the sacrament of Confirmation.
